Parent Agreement

This is the document a parent acknowledges at Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC). Each consent below is granular — you choose what to allow and what to refuse.

1. You are the parent or legal guardian

By accepting this agreement, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the child being added to the account.

2. What you're agreeing to (core service)

You agree that we may collect the data described in the Privacy Policy from your child, store it in encrypted form, and use it to provide the learning service. This is required to use the app.

Core service consent (required) — let GradeEarn collect and process my child's journal, homework, timetable, tasks, practice answers, and AI chat messages to provide the service.

3. Optional consents (you can refuse any of these)

Extended chat retention — keep AI chat history beyond 30 days. Useful if you want to review longer windows of conversation. Default: refuse. Weekly progress emails — send me a weekly summary of my child's practice and journal activity. Default: refuse. Anonymized usage analytics — let GradeEarn use anonymized, aggregated usage data (no identifiers, no content) to improve the product. Default: refuse.

4. What we will NEVER do

We do not offer the following options, because we never want to do them:

Show advertisements to your child
Share child data with advertising networks, social media, or data brokers
Use your child's chat content to train AI models
Sell your child's data, ever, to anyone, for any reason

5. Your rights

You can review, delete, refuse further collection, or revoke any optional consent at any time via the parent dashboard or by emailing privacy@gradeearn.com. We respond within 10 business days. See the Privacy Policy for the full description of parental rights.

6. Acceptance

Clicking "Accept and continue" in the app records your acceptance of this agreement (version 1, effective May 12, 2026), the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service, and the AI Disclosure. We store: the documents you accepted, the version of each, a one-way hash of your IP address, a snippet of your browser user-agent, and the timestamp. This record is kept for 7 years as required by COPPA.
